Museumsuferfest (Late August). A huge three-day riverbank festival along the Museum Embankment with music, food and fireworks over the Main.
Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) (October). The world's largest publishing trade fair, dating in essence to the 15th century and dominating the city for a week.
Frankfurt Christmas Market (Late November–December). One of Germany's oldest Christmas markets, filling the Römerberg with glühwein, Bethmännchen marzipan and lights.
Dippemess (Spring (and autumn)). Hesse's largest funfair, a Frankfurt tradition with rides, sausage stalls and apple wine.
Wäldchestag (Pentecost (Whitsun)). A local holiday when Frankfurters decamp to the city forest for a festival — an old civic tradition.
